"Ye are the light of the
world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be
hid." ...Matthew 5: 14
We are all called to be bright lights in this dark
world. When a city is set on a hill, the light
brightly shines for all to see. The Bible tells
us, "it cannot be hid." We are to let our light
shine before men, that others may see our good
works and glorify God. Light is symbolic of truth
and life, which is found in our Savior.
Without Jesus in our life, we would have no light.
He lights up our life with His love each day. We
are called to share His life and love with others.
We can reflect His glory, if we let Him reign in
our lives. Light reveals, and the Scriptures tell
us, "the entrance of God's Word giveth light and
understanding to the simple." (Psalms 119: 130)
Spiritual light brings true Christian growth and
maturity into our lives.
Because of the darkness of sin, Jesus came into
this world to die in our place, that we might have
eternal life. Our soul is likened unto a ship,
sailing on the seas of time. Just as a ship must
have the guidance of light to navigate it's
course, we must also have the light of our Lord to
guide us, as we travel through this world.
There are many today walking in darkness, who have
not received this marvelous light. Some have no
hope for the future. We have God's light within
our hearts. When all glory is given to the Lord,
God's light will draw others to Jesus.
May we always seek to be 'light bearers' and
realize we can do nothing, without the light of
the Lord. His light illuminates and warms hearts
as He reveals truth and life. With Him, we can do
all things by faith, as He strengthens us. May we
be 'beacons of truth' as we seek to let our lights
shine daily for Jesus.
We give thanks for Jesus, who is our Lighthouse.
He will always guide us safely, until we reach our
final destination. If it wasn't for Jesus, our
Lighthouse, where would our ship be?
Blessings in Christ,
