2 Peter 3:18 (NIV) “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”

Devotional:

Life with Jesus is a journey of growth. A tender call to keep growing. “But grow” is not a passive suggestion. It is a command implying continual progress to increase, to become greater or more mature.

Grace is God’s unearned favor. His kindness, mercy, and power working in and through believers. To “grow in grace” means becoming more deeply rooted in the reality of God’s mercy and forgiveness. Learning to rely more on His strength than your own and extending grace to others as we mature spiritually.

“And knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” is about truly knowing Jesus. Learning what He loves, how He speaks, where He leads, and how He heals. Like any real relationship, this takes time, intentionality, and presence. This full title acknowledges both His lordship (authority) and His role as Savior (redeemer). Our growth is centered on a Person, not just abstract beliefs. The focus is relational and devotional, not just theological.

The final note,“To Him be the glory both now and forever!” pulls it all together. This is a doxology, a statement of praise. It acknowledges that Jesus is worthy of all honor, now and for eternity. It’s also a reminder that all our spiritual growth should lead to glorifying Christ, not ourselves. Your growth is not just for your own sake. It’s so that the beauty of Christ can be seen more clearly in your life. Every step forward, every deeper insight, and every act of trust all reflects Him to the world.

Personal Reflection:

  • What am I doing to grow in relationship with Jesus currently?
  • Where do I struggle to receive God’s grace?
  • Am I being intentional in building my relationship with Christ? Setting a time and a place to be in His presence?
  • In what ways can I rely more on His strength rather than my own?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus,

Thank You for saving me, not because of anything I’ve done, but because of Your grace. You are my Lord and Savior—faithful, merciful, and infinitely kind.

Help me to grow in that grace. Let it soften the hard places in my heart, and make me more like You. Teach me to lean on Your strength when I’m weak, and to be quick to show grace to others.

I want to know You more. Not just know about You, but truly walk with You. Open my heart and mind to Your Word. Stir my spirit to seek You in every season.

May everything I do bring glory to Your name. Not just today, but forever. Thank you for Your promise to keep growing me, to bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

Jesus I am all in.  I am all Yours. Forever and ever.

Amen.
